Software: Pocket Sunrise 4.0 XA from Eclipsys
Healthcare informatics firm Eclipsys of Boca Raton, FL, unveiled two new products at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference yesterday -- Remote Access Services (RAS) 4.0 XA and Pocket Sunrise 4.0 XA.
RAS 4.0 XA provides clinicians with access to the company's Sunrise Clinical Manager application from locations outside an institution. The product allows clinicians to enter orders and access all configured patient lists, patient charts, and demographics, as well as review results. An optional Secure Health Messaging module enables clinicians to interact with one another or with patients via e-mail.
The firm also introduced Pocket Sunrise 4.0 XA, a wireless, portable companion application to Sunrise XA that runs on a Microsoft Pocket PC-enabled device. The product allows clinicians to review patient information or enter simple orders. Complex orders can be pre-configured and stored on the device for later selection, Eclipsys said.
